INTERGEN WINS A PRESTIGIOUS JOB ORDER WITHIN THE TRANS ANATOLIAN NATURAL GAS PIPELINE (TANAP) PROJECT
The IML Group energy division will supply seven black-start emergency power units, which will be installed in strategic points along the main gas pipeline in Turkey. This will guarantee seamless operation of the entire infrastructure.
Lomagna (Lecco), May 2016 – Intergen, the IML Group energy division, an Italian leader in the cogeneration sector and in the design and manufacture of power units for the Oil & Gas sector, has won an important international tender for the supply of emergency power units within the realisation of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
Thanks to its know-how, the company with registered office in Lomagna, present on the international energy production market for over one hundred years, has won the job order of one of the most ambitious energy products of recent decades. TANAP’s objective consists in the realisation of a new energy supply hub through the construction of a strategic corridor. which will carry natural gas from Azerbaijan, passing through Turkey, to Europe, thanks to the connection with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
Intergen will contribute to the realisation of the infrastructure with the supply of seven black-start emergency power units located in key points along the 1850 kilometres of the main pipeline. Intergen components will be used to boot the compression and gas measurement stations, which are elements necessary to ensure the correct operation of the entire pipeline, in total absence of electricity (from 0) or in case of blackout.
The first four emergency power units will be installed by the end of 2016, while the other three will be supplied by the end of 2017. Several of the Intergen power unit components have been designed to guarantee higher efficiency even at very rigid temperatures and altitudes up to 2000 metres above sea level.
The seven black-start power units which will be supplied for the TANAP project consolidate and increase Intergen’s prestige within the international Oil & Gas market and are added to the 1400 power units already installed by the Italian company worldwide.
