INTERGEN:\u00a0<\/strong>NEW ENERGY AND EFFICIENCY FOR\u00a0<\/strong>THE TISSUE INDUSTRY<\/strong><\/strong><\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The IML Group energy division supplies a 3200 kWe cogeneration unit\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>to the multinational Cartiere Carrara<\/em><\/strong> for energy efficiency\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>at the Ferrania (Savona) plant<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lomagna (Lecco), September 2016<\/em> – Intergen, the energy division of the IML Group, a leading Italian company in the cogeneration industry has partnered with the Cartiere Carrara group for the supply of a cogeneration unit for energy efficiency at the Ferrania plant in the province of Savona.<\/p>\n

The Cartiera Carrara group is a multinational that has been present on the tissue market for more than 140 years. One of Europe\u2019s main industry players, the group boasts nine plants in Italy with a production of 200,000 tons of tissue per year, which it exports to more than 40 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

The paper production and converting cycle requires large quantities of electricity and heat. The high cost of energy bills in Italy has led many companies to search for alternative resources to disconnect from the national grid and be able to continue to be competitive in the international market.<\/p>\n

Cartiera Carrara decided to move in this direction and chose Intergen as their energy partner to analyse consumption and design, build and provide maintenance for a cogeneration system at the Ferrania plant. Thanks to this project, Intergen has confirmed and reinforced its presence in the tissue industry, an important market for cogeneration development.<\/p>\n

From a technical standpoint, the new plant is equipped with an MWM (Motoren Werke Mannheim) engine fuelled by natural gas, 3,200 kWe TCG 2032V12 (250 NOX) model, which was built with a soundproof enclosure assembled on-site.<\/p>\n

Heat from the exhaust supply a recovery of 1,430 kWt, used for the production of more than 2,220 kg\/h of steam. Energy for the production of hot water is obtained from the engine oil and water cooling circuit that is then efficiently used in numerous plant operations.<\/p>\n

Thanks to this performance, the MWM engines that Intergen has been exclusive distributor for in Italy since 1987, have once again confirmed that they are extremely competitive in all implementations that require the production of steam from heat recovered from exhaust. The exhaust from the German engines is output at very high temperatures which makes it possible to obtain a better quality energy result compared to the competition. The competitive advantage obtained thanks to the use of MWM engines translates into efficiency equal to 42% for the electricity produced and 44% for the heat generated.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”2428″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]Nike Odyssey React<\/a><\/span>
